SC CoSN Chapter

Announcement: South Carolina CoSN State Chapter!

On February 26, 2026, the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), approved the South Carolina Association for Educational Technology (SCAET) request to establish a new CoSN State Chapter. This partnership marks an exciting step forward in the shared mission to advance education through the effective and innovative use of technology. As an official CoSN State Chapter, SCAET is now part of a dynamic national network of education leaders committed to driving digital transformation and student success.

EdTech Leaders Alliance (ETLA) is excited to partner with SCAET to offer a study group to South Carolina ed tech leaders looking to earn their CETL certification. This 11 week course will prepare you to take the Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) exam by covering CoSN's Framework for Essential Skills

The study group will kick off virtually during the EdTech Leaders Alliance Conference in Columbus, Ohio on October 19. Anyone from South Carolina who would like to attend in person is welcome to do so, but I expect most participants will join virtually.

Following the kickoff, we’ll meet weekly, also virtually, to work through the topics listed below. Our goal is for the group to take the exam together on February 12, 2027. Valarie Byrd will be coordinating the exam for South Carolina.

This will be the ninth study group; we've had a passage rate of 98%. If you're thinking about the CETL...now's the time to get signed up!
