Call for Proposals 2021

What:  
SC EdTech 2021 - South Carolina’s premier educational technology conference is designed to promote the use of educational technology to enhance student learning. The mission of EdTech is to bring educators, administrators, technology professionals, college faculty and staff, public and academic librarians, business and industry trainers, industry representatives, and policy makers together to think, discuss, listen, and learn the best strategies to plan for, implement, and use educational technology in our schools. This invitation is being issued to all involved in education—from novice to expert.

When and Where:
EdTech 2021 will be held October 20 - 22, 2021 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

Call for Presentations:  
EdTech 2021 invites you to submit an application to present a one-hour session on Wednesday, October 20, Thursday, October 21, or Friday, October 22. Session content should focus on technology in educational settings.  We welcome submissions from professionals in educational technology that represent any academically or technically relevant discipline. In addition, we will have vendor-sponsored presentations by industry experts. 

As you prepare your proposal to present please check all information for accuracy, completeness, spelling, and grammar. Information associated with accepted applications will be used for conference program guidebooks, web content, and other publications.

Selection Process:
All applications to present for EdTech 2021 will be selected by the conference selection committee based on the following criteria:

  • Interest to conference attendees
  • Content of presentation
  • Quality of presentation
  • Completeness and accuracy of application
  • Qualifications and experience of presenter

Presentation Content:
The following tracks will be used to group sessions: 

  • Instructional Technology
  • IT Security, Network/Infrastructure and Technical Support
  • PowerSchool
  • Assistive Technology and Accessibility Technology
  • Professional Development and Professional Learning Communities
  • One to One Initiatives
  • Policies and Procedures 
  • Physical Safety

Appropriate session topics might include:

  • Integrating Technology into the Classroom
  • Distance Education/ E-learning/ Online Courses / Educational Television
  • Assistive Technology (Special Education, ESOL, etc.)
  • Wireless Technology 
  • Websites and Accessibility 
  • Technology Administration
  • Technology in the Media Center
  • Video/ Flipped Classrooms
  • Managing Tech Support
  • Security
  • Strategies for one to one implementation

Session Handouts:
All handouts should be prepared to be made available on the Internet along with presenter contact information. Details for submission will be included in the notification of acceptance sent to the main presenter listed on the application. Session handouts/presentations are required to be submitted no later than the closing of EdTech conference.

Presenter per Session and Application Notification:
Notification of acceptance will be via email to the presenter listed on the application.  A session may be presented more than once. Complimentary registration will be provided for the presenter. Once presentations are accepted, selections will be posted on the EdTech website.
